Good question Jan, I await to see what replies you receive.  I have heard that 
some folk just 
install the original OS on a second pc regardless.  The problem is that you 
have I think 4 weeks to 
"Activate" it when it dials home to check with Uncle Bill to see if it has 
already been Activated. 
To date I am not aware of any such requests for a second Activation being 
refused by MS, but I have 
heard of it being refused for MS programs like MS Word.
