So than what does the X mean ??
> This isn't at all how these CPUs work. The DualCore CPUs, available > from Intel and AMD don't give you 2x the MHz rating. (I'll explain in > a moment.) so you saying even the 2 processors ,it really is one becuse thay don't perform like 2 processors thay devide the work load .But it only works if the software supports it . And HyperThreading only devides the work in small chunks? In addition, the MHz rating really doesn't affect computer > performance as much as you think, many other systems come into play to > determine the performance and reliability of a PC. AMD does not list MHz thay list a model number like AMD Athlon 64 3200+, AMD Athlon 64 3500,Athlon 64 4000, yes the higher the number the better AMD Athlon 64 3200+, runs at 2.00 GHz AMD Athlon 64 3500+, runs at 2.2 GHz AMD Athlon 64 4000+ runs at 2.40 GHz AMD Athlon 64 2800+, runs at 1.80 GHz More at http://www.compusa.com/products/products.asp? N=200136+400950&Ne=400000 The 64 means it is a 64-bit processors .As 32-bit processing is on its way out. I don't have the money for AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ I need to go down but better than Intel celeron 1.8GHz .In the future if I have the money I will get AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800. ------------------------ Yahoo!
