Hello Emile

There are no real hard and fast rules, if you have 5 good free applications we
would all be
interested in a brief description but not 7,000 ... do you really have 7,000?
The golden rule is
that you don't promote something here for financial gain and you don't bombard
us with regular
broadcasts, so go ahead let's hear about the 5 apps you mention. From time to
time folk do ask if
anyone knows of free software to perform certain tasks and in such cases you
will hopefully be of
invaluable help.

It might be an idea for us all to list our favourite free programs that we
wouldn't be without,
which has been done on other Lists with great benefit to all members.

In the specific case of posts from [EMAIL PROTECTED] I have blocked his/ her
posts form my
Inbox because they have a feel of Spam about them as Tom Mitchell, our regular
"Spam Spotter" (lol),
points out. They are more or less just broadcasts with no personal explanation
as to why he/ she
likes the software. I personally don't like 5 lines all saying PCINSPECTOR or
whatever, which is
just an "in your face" advertisement with no personal touch, not even a siggy.
Furthermore some of
the links he/ she provided for downloads were not the official links and
contained Adult material.

Hi again:

Further to my last post regarding the posting of advice about
non-commercial software. I personally have about 7000 free
software applications on file and there are about 5 applications
that are absolutely excellent. I would not be without them but
I have refrained from promoting them to the group for fear of
appearing out of line. What is the official policy?
