I would hope that any reasonably modern PC system would be able to
handle Vista otherwise the market for this "new" OS would be somewhat
restricted! If I were you and should you choose to go Vista, may I
suggest you wait for at least Service Pack 10 and Update # 3,764
before buying :-)

However, even M$ wont know the minimum system requirements until
summer 2006 "at the earliest". The Chinese version will be out before
then ;-))

On the matter of Dell, I have to confess to owning a pocket computer
manufactured by that company. It does not have a hard drive but a nice
reliable 1GB memory card with no moving parts. I bought it as it was
on very special offer, as new, not from Dell but as a refurbished unit
from an independent supplier. Reliable? Well, let's say I have had it
two months and have had to reload all the data on to it three times so
far..... At least it's smaller than a laptop and will do most things a
laptop will do but only on Thursdays........

My present Dell is powerful enough to be able to happily function on
"Vista" when and if I choose to, irrespective of the fact that others
will not want to, for the purposes of keeping up with technology, my
choice, of course.
