So your mouse misbehaves when using the PS/2 connector. Is it not working in 
USB mode either, or do you just prefer PS/2 mode. I actually do too, but for 
an obscure reason, I use a KVM switch with only a PS/2 input for the mouse. 
If the PS/2 mode doesn't work I'd probably just go with USB.
