HI ya Bob.. $75.. wow when you turn it on do you hear
any "beeps" & if so what kind? Constant beep or
intermittant beep? I don't know (of course how
conversant you are with computers). Take the case off
the computer, it is easy.. sometimes there are a few
screw at the back or it has te buttons on both sided
at the from squeez them in & pull the case back. If
you are able get another hard drive & plug it in it is
only two plugs..(trial & error) If you know that that
hard drive is good (worked on another machine) & it
still does not work. But firse take out the video card
You will see it it is where the monitor plugs in.
unscrew the two screws on the monito plug from the
outside then there is on scre for the video card, It
simply pulls out. Then put it back in( carefully,
don't force it) then try it. If it still doesn't work
go get a video card (around 10 bucks here try it) [a
video card is always handy to have around so you won't
be trhowing any money away.. Here you can take it back
for a refund. Now if all that fails remove the cable
from the motherboard to the hard drive & replace it
firmly but don't force it some of the plugs have a
blank hole so get it right.. All this is not
difficult. If all this does not work then it can be
the small bios battery on the mother board (looks like
a nickle, silver.. don't cost much) then you reduced
it to either the CPU or the motherboard itself. Here a
motherboard is 25 dollars.Once you have the case of
remove all the dust from the fan & clean up the entire
motherboard so it is dust free..Get some canned air
Or a reverse vaccum cleaner at low speed. good
Luck....... Silk..
If all fails email me off list & I will give you the
email address of a friend of mine who is a technician.
                          Chao/Silk
