Bob

I think its best not to jump to conclusions, but to troubleshoot in
safe mode could be something as simple or a faulty PSU or an
incorrect driver. You may even find that though the symptoms on both
systems appear the same the causes may be different. You don't want
to lay out on expensive items like MOBOs or CPUs without eliminating
possible causes that cost nothing or very little to fix. Could even
be a software conflict or something that has worked loose. Or it
could be a bios problem, I dont suppose you can tell whether eithe
PC actually completes the Boot sequence?

What operating system(s) is in use? Do you (and your Grandson) get
any beeps when booting? You can find the beep codes for the MOBO's
and sometimes these can be useful in diagnosing what is wrong.

I think its best to treat, both computers as separate entities and,
by process of elimination, determine what is wrong with each of them.

This may take some time so it depends wheher you have the patience.

Good Luck
