Morning all! :-).

I have not had problems with this before, even through all the other
computer changes. I have not been able to find a satisfactory answer
for this on Eudora's website. I figure it's something simple that I
am missing.

To shorten a long story, the power supply died on my computer. A
new power supply and tower, etc. and a couple of days later, I have
everything backed up on a new external drive. Because of the many
different computer problems I have had this year, I bought the
external drive ( a my book from Western Digital), and plan to keep as
much data on it as possible.

I have a paid and registered copy of Eudora 6.2.3.4. Some
attachments are coming through just fine. However, many bring up the
error message: "Access permission denied, file may be marked as read
only or locked. (13)," or another one (paraphrased) that says Eudora
can't "write" the attachment. When the messages appear, the
attachment shows up as a gobbly gook text file (lots of letters,
numbers, and symbols that don't mean anything), so I am getting something.

It mostly happens with an art group I am on, from where I get
pictures. It's not limited to one artist or poster. This morning I
received an email for Mom, and the attachments gave me the same
message. She's not going to be happy - and if Mama ain't happy ..... :-).

Someone on the art group said "It seems to me you can't see the
pictures that are attached but the ones that are embedded in the mail
you can see," but she has no idea what could be the problem.

There's no difference if I change where the data folders are
located. I tried setting all the files and the attachment folders to
not read only, especially after the "write" message, but that didn't
seem to help either.

I am at a loss. I don't have Norton anymore; changed that on one of
the last computers a couple of months ago. They had to pull this
tower and power supply off the display shelf, and it does have
McAfee's spam killer on it. I don't use it though, and would love to
get it off. I use trend micro antivirus, so I am virus protected.

This attachment problem is really annoying. How do I fix it?

Thanks
Theresa
