Try the simple solutions first CJ, like emptying the TIF folder. Also, some
Home Pages are just bloated out with images, animations and macromedia files
etc., try changing your home page to something small and simple like the Google
search engine page Tools/ Internet Options/ General and type in the Google url
then click Apply.

Double click on the IE icon on the desktop and there's a LONG pause before it
actually opens.
