I alsmost never use that solution. For one thing all my present machines
have come with rescue systems, either disks or rescue partitions. Some offer
the repair option but I usually just use the reformat option when I use
them. I also have Ghost and I use that more often. Having run a reformat
option and removing the junk apps and adding my programs I ghost the C
partition to a partition that is approximately the same size. Then if things
get dicey, I just reverse the process and ghost from the partition copy to
C. When I used the XP install disk I never was satisfied with a repair
install sine most of the problems seemed not to go away with a repair
install.
