Hi Patty
Holiday time here so sorry for missing your question :(
Yes your problem makes sense and is quite common but two questions:
1. What is the attached file type, please tell us what the extension is i.e.
the
letters after the "." for example Patty.jpg it is the letters jpg we are
interested in?
2. What is your Operating System (eg Windows XP?)
Basically you are receiving attached files that can't find a program on your
computer to use to open it ... we just need to educate your computer ;-) Jim
may bludgeon it into compliancy, Chris Range will ask you to repeat the
question, Debbie will blow in it's ear and send it into ecstasy, Ivan will use
Karma, Emile will use logic and Paris will use his French charm, basically you
can't go wrong here, especially with a resident bear!

Hi. I wrote a few days back regarding a problem I am having opening
attachments. Recently nearly every e-mail that has an attachment can't be
opened because it hasn't a file associated with it. When I try to open it,
it says that it is an unknown file type. I am not sure why this problem
started or how to fix it. I tried to create an associated file type, but
since the type is unknown, how do I do that?
I hope that this makes sense to somebody out there, as it is becoming a very
frustrating problem for me.
T. I. A. for any help you might
be able to offer,
Patty
