Hi Patty

I think Ivan gave you this link before but here it is again. Note there is a
space between msimn and /reg if in doubt copy and paste this:

msimn /reg

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;312355

If you try the other method via Folder Options, File Types and Registered File
Types remember that when scrolling down the list on the left hand side you are
looking for "EML" file types and not Outlook Express Mail Messages, you should
see it in between EMF and EPS file types.

If you go with another mail client I would go with Ivan's second
recommendadtion
Mozilla Thunderbird, it has the same feel as OE and a lot of people would agree
that it is more secure than OE. I use both, it is nice to try different
programs but bears are like that ;-)

Dang..I have tried each of the procedures advised, and still can't open
attachments. However, when I went to my Folder Options, File types and
Registered file types there was no Outlook Express Mail Messages listed
there, so I wasn't able to edit anything. I did try Start, Run, msimn/reg ,
but had no success. I called my server, but they were no help at all. I am
thinking I may have to quit Outlook and start using another e-mail service.
I have a gmail account with google, so might just switch everything over to
them. It will keep me from kicking my 'puter...:o). Oh, Rupert, you asked
which version I have, and it is Outlook Express 6.
                                             Thanks all..
                                                       Patty
