Hi:
Ya, I have been with PCs from the time of Franklin and Timex with
8 Kbs of memory but I have never had a Hard drive mechanical failure
and I have never spoken to anyone who did, but I'm not saying it
cannot happen. So, one should prepare.
I am into my 4th laptop and only the last one (Gateway) has both a
recovery DVD and recovery in a separate partition but, the instructions
are clear, Make a copy of your recovery software. Software is like
death, once it's over that's it. Once you lose your pictures, that's it,
they're gone. A lot of the other stuff can be replicated but why go
through the hassle?
It is so easy now to keep copies of everything. One needs to follow the
instructions that are clearly expressed in their OEM recovery instructions.
