Hi Catrina Well I suppose I had better put my two penneth worth in on this:
1. I assume the settings are correct in Control Panel> Mouse> Pointers? 2. I don't think you mentioned the type of mouse roller ball, optical or cordless. If it is roller ball you should be able to access the ball via the access panel on the underside of the mouse and clean out any fluff or mouse droppings. 3. If it is optical, clean the optical window on the underside and also clean the table top or mouse pad, whatever it sits upon. 4. If it is cordless, are the batteries running down? 5. Scan your PC for malware 6. Your last comment was informative, you could be trying to access web pages that are overwhelming your computer's resources/ memory, in which case the screen may hang and the mouse either momentarily freezes or when your try to move it, it is either in slow motion or moves back and forth across the screen horizontally until you are able to vacate the site. If no one has already mentioned it, a program worth considering is C Cleaner, which is free http://www.ccleaner.com/. Set a windows "Restore Point" before you use it, just as a precaution. 7. Get yourself a cat ... I guarantee your mouse will move much faster ;-) Rupert O^O--------------- Rupert's Reply To ---------------O^O it DID seem to help when i did that (delete TIF and cookies) cause the mouse ONLY does that when I am online never when I am on MSPub or MSword Catrina Avast ye land lubbers!
