Hi Debbie
I will indeed keep you posted, d/l just now but have set a restore point first.
As for getting rid of the yellow alert icon in sys tray, click it to open it
and
check the box "Don't inform me of this download in future" (or something like
that) and the icon will disappear. If you want to d/l at some future date you
can just go to the M$ Updates Centre via Start> Windows Update.
Hmm I just clicked on d/l but nothing seems to have happened, usually you get
the option asking if you wish to install but the yellow alert icon has
disappeared with no option to install? I will go to the M$ site and d/l from
there ... d/l & installing now.

Keep us updated on how you get along with IE7 and if you have any problems.
I have read about so many problems people have been having with IE7 that I
don't want to download it yet - but if I don't how can I get rid of that
awful little yellow symbol in my right hand taskbar?
