That did the trick, I clicked on it and removed the check mark for that
download only.  (until I hear a few more good things about IE7 I am going to
stick to using my new favourite browser - AvantBrowser)

Hi Debbie

I will indeed keep you posted, d/l just now but have set a restore point
first. 
As for getting rid of the yellow alert icon in sys tray, click it to open it
and 
check the box "Don't inform me of this download in future" (or something
like 
that) and the icon will disappear. If you want to d/l at some future date
you 
can just go to the M$ Updates Centre via Start> Windows Update.
