The cmos battery will not affect whether the floppy works or the hard drive
will boot. The fact that the clock is only evidence that along with all the
other problems, the computer is a sick puppy. and probably very old.

It is unfortunate that your opinion of your abilities is not proven. Your
the one that had a go at me, ridiculed me, for recommending that people who
were having problems defragging do so in safe mode. You never even apologised
for your rudeness. Now you see Mods in groups recommending the same. Here
your at it again. Well I am not telling people to scrap their machines. Nor
was I telling them not to carry out virus scanning or whatever.

The same in this case, lots of stuff can happen through a failing/failed
battery, yes including the Hard Drive won't boot, It may be the battery in
conjuction with other things, but you can't tell that without trying it in
isolation. Worth a try for $3. But just as you tried to put people off about
my
scanning suggestion, your at it again.

I have lots of evidence supporting this just like I had for defragging in
safe mode, but this time I don't propose justifying my comments to you.

Paris
