If you created a 37 gig partition then there should be more that 478 MB 
of free space. There should be around 3072MB of free space.

Look at the IDE cables. Make sure that you are looking at the correct 
drive. If you created the 37 gig partition with windows, XP should see 
the 37gig partition. XP should see the entire drive even if there were 
Linux or NT 4.0 partitions.

One other thing I would try is to make sure that the bios sees the 
entire drive.
