Harry is using W98 Ian so no SR available.

The problem seems to have occurred after Harry reformatted his HD so I would
suggest either running sfc / scannow from Start--> Run and typing:

SFC /SCANNOW

you will need the W98 installation disk handy

or reinstalling W98 and of course once W98 has been reinstalled Harry has to
install all the updates and patches of which there are very many.

Then I suggest you just try a restore to a date before this started to
happen.

To do the restore go Start/Programs/Assessories/System Tools/Restore.

Get back to let us know how it goes. Good luck.

Hello All,

I need help. When I click on the "My Computer" or "My Document" icon
on my desktop, they won't open. And not only that, the PC hang. Now I
can't access all the things I've saved to the hard drive. I also found
out I can't even open Windows Explorer.

Otherwise, the PC seem to be working fine, i.e. I can still open the
internet browser and surf, and save to the hard drive. I just can't
get to the things I've saved later.

By the way, I'm still using Windows 98, and I just reformatted my PC
less than a week ago. It was working fine until two days ago.

Please help.

Harry
