Well the desktop icon of a word doc saved there would be different from
click on the "waste bin" or "my computer" of course 
The word doc would show what I said the other would show a dialog with
several tab. What I do not understand is what you mean by original folder?

There are dote for version of XP and your could be older and you could lack
the packs that went with window updates. Mine is 
Version 5.1 2600 and service pack2.

OK, now this is very interesting. Check your computer and
see if this isn't true:
 
When you click Properties, if a folder is an original, it
contains only the words Created: Date
 
If a folder is a shortcut (with a little curved arrow beside
it), the following information appears:
 
Created. Date
Modified. Date
Accessed. Date
 
Could it be that your copy of Windows was bought, whereas
mine was installed when I purchased the computer from Dell?
I am trying to figure out why this disparity. Does anyone
else have this? It's not a problem, but to me it's a mystery
-- and I hate mysteries without solutions.
