Walter I am using XP like you OK, All versions of XP will do this.

When you right click and choose Properties as I suggested you get this.

Folder.

Type. i.e. A doc, a pic etc.
Location. The URL on your computer to find the folder
Size. Of the folder in Kb, Mg, Gb.
Size on disk. Often slightly larger.
Contains. What is inside the folder.
Attributes. i.e. Read only,Hidden etc.

Two other tabs give.

Sharing, For network sharing.
Customize. For changing the folder icon.

Files.

Created. Date
Modified. Date
Accessed. Date

Two tabs.

Customize.
Summery.

On the file Properties there will be same extra or some less it for instance
its a Graphic file instead of a doc file.

What more did you expect or hope for because I think that covers a lot
myself.

Maybe we have different versions of Windows. Is that
possible? I have Windows XP, and in XP when you right click
on a FOLDER and ask for the Properties, you get the date the
folder was created, and nothing else.
On the other hand, if you right-click a FILE and zip down to
Properties, you're told when the file was created, when it
was modified and when it was accessed.

Could it be you're looking at Vista?
