Dear John,

I don't want to sound too enthusiastic but for at least during the last six
hours the "Windows Security Alert" culprit hasn't shown its' ugly face.

As promised, I am describing what I have done:

Installing and running Microsoft's 90 days "Windows Live OneCare" trial version
found something called: "VirTool:Win32/CeeInject.gen!A" -I haven't a clue as
what it means-

Deleting it seems to have overpowered the offender.

Sincerely,

Sally

as sugggested by: [EMAIL PROTECTED] "SDFix download" took considerable
creative thinking to get it in and installed, but it fixed mine and i am
eternally grateful. your symptoms are slightly different from mine, but it
sounds like it works the same way. The thing that was so disheartening was that
it had deleted so many of the shortcuts to vital programs. It is a lot harder
to find problems with the search agent deleted, and patently hard to run things
with the run box gone. in safe mode i found myself opening things i didn't need
to get iexplore and explorer.exe windows open when i needed them.

Thanks again for the helpful suggestions and supportive comments
  Have a nice day
  John

  This a new problem.
Starting from a few hours ago I receive every 5-10 minutes the
  following message:
"Windows Security Alert / To help protect your computer, Windows
Firewall has detected activity of harmful software / Do you want to
block this software from sending data over the Internet? / Name:
  Trojan-Downloader. Win32.Agent. bq.etc. Etc.
I am given the choice to click 'Enable Protection'
If I do so, I am directed to a commercial site that tries to sell me
the following software: "PC AntiSpy, PC clean Pro".
I cannot get rid of this pop-up.
  I have run `a-squared', `Ad-
  Aware', `SpyBlaster' , `Malwarebytes' , `Spyware Terminator',
and `Avast' anti-virus but the 'alert' keeps coming back every few
  minutes.
I am not familiar enough with technical terms so please I would much
  appreciate step-by-step instructions.
  Sincerely,
  Sally
