Thank you for answering.
I have tried. The 'System Restore' says it cannot restore to a previous restore 
point.
I have also run Microsoft's 'Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool' as I was 
advised by Melanie but it failed to find anything malicious.

  The first thing to try is to do a System Restore to a point before the 
  problem started. This will get rid of the problem, then you need to turn 
  system restore off and back on again to get rid of the restore point 
  which now contains the problem.
