Dear Ray, Thank you for answering. I have tried. The 'System Restore' says it cannot restore to a previous restore point. I have also run Microsoft's 'Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool' as I was advised by Melanie but it failed to find anything malicious. Melanie, thanks anyway. Sally
