Try this, right click My Computer and select Manage, then Disk
management. This will open a window that should show all drives, maybe
even ones that do not otherwise show in My Computer. If you have
plugged in some USB device it might be conflicting with the drive
letter the DVD player had. One thing I do to minimize this is, in disk
management, I select change drive letter. Then I choose the end of the
alphabet for the optical drives, i.e. cd or dvd drives. Thus they
would be letter Y and Z.
