Thanks, Donk, The mouse is installed in the port on the back of my computer. I tried it in a usb slot when I first bought it a few months ago but it didn't want to work that way so it came with an adapter so that's what I used.. I also installed the new software that came with it so believe the device drivers are okay but checked it anyway and my software is up to date.
