Ian, I responded to your suggestion about SP3 with the fact that the problem occurred before I installed SP3 and if I have further problems, I'll try uninstalling it.
You tweaked me into googling to see about a cordless mouse with a trackball and see that Logitech has one. Too bad I didn't realize that a couple of months ago when I bought my TRACKMAN replacement. Someone else said something about unplugging the cordless mouse I have and that might solve the problem. My wireless mouse is an adjunct to my Wacomb Tablet so I'd have to unplug that, I guess. Actually, I wonder if I could remove that and only plug it in when I want to use it. Hmmmm. Thanks, once again, all.
