Yep, you'll have to reinstall all your programs onto the new drive.  And 
manually copy any data you have, like pictures, music, text files, etc.
Technically you could try removing the new HD and booting with your old 
drive - but I'm guessing that the boot would fail when XP started 
looking for all the hardware from the old PC, and instead found a bunch 
of totally "different" hardware on the new PC.  Even if it booted you'd 
have to spend a lot of time removing the old stuff from Device Manager, 
and installing drivers for all the new stuff.
