According to the guys on the Cranky Geek podcast AMD has 'split'
itself so that one part can concentrate on the coding of their
processors and the other part can concentrate on the plants where they
mfg the chips. I guess that part will also do mfg. of other peoples
chips as well as develop the ability to further shrink the size of
individual bits of the chips.
