When I Googled for the Atom Processor I left the Intel page open then just now
clicked on the
video about it. The name Atom has meaning. They guy in the video was holding a
printed
circuit card on which the chip was mounted. The card was the size of a business
card and
the chip was about the size of the old TTL 7400, chip which only had 14. That
series did
come in a 24 pin chip which was somewhat smaller than the original 8 bit chips.
So TINY is
the word for the Atom processor. The video seemed to emphasize that it was for
portable
devices.
