I thought an mp3 was a high density disk that can hold lots and lots of info.
Nope, an MP3 is not a storage device. Its a type of media; an audio file.
Techie term!: MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3, more commonly referred to as MP3.
OK, thank you, so to avoid myself the time of learning all about it, I should
probably get a portable mp3 player. The audio portion of the camera would work
only with the SD card? I might be interested in a camera with audio one day,
but right now my simple HP digital is what I have. The reason I say this is
because I don't have 1000 hours a day to learn everything I'd like to right
now, so I must apply the KISS principle you know, keep it simple, stupid. Much
as I love to learn, I must Keep It Simple. :-)We're both trying to help our
parents get computer-friendly. We understand KISS! Yeah, if you're looking for
some portable music, you're far better off just getting an MP3 player. All
you'd need to do is attach it to your comp by USB drive, open up the Player's
folder, then open up your music folder... then click-n-drag all the songs you
want over to the player's folder. Easy! I've yet to play with the Mp3 Cameras,
but I hear they're pretty
interesting... But, yes; if it would be playing music, it would most likely be
needing the SD card to hold the music- and pictures you take.

yes Either the SD card or thumb drive aka flash drive can both play mp3's. The
SD card needs an adapter to be read such as a card reader or phone, while the
thumb drive can be plugged into any thing with a usb port such as newer car
stereos or any computer/laptop. If you are looking for a more portable way
then mp3 players are the way to go, they range from 128megabyte to 10gigabytes

Ah, good to hear someone is in my age range of sorts. Regarding the flashdrive,
it downloads music or audio? Can it be played through an MP3 player or portable
audio device?

A Flash drive is a form of portable hard drive. They come in small cards
that go in a camera or in your modern computer for instance or they come as
memory pens that plug into a USB port on your computer. Both types, like the
Hard Drive, can be written to and deleted from. Both are very small and
easy to carry about. Both have sizes ranging from 128mg to 8 or more gb.
Don't worry about age, I am 75

I know nothing about flash drives. But I was thinking it should be
Something I should learn. (I'm 65 almost, not born in the computer
Age.) What is a flash drive? What does it do?
