before you decide if it is good or bad to share the experiences, let me add a few things.
Everyday people order products through the internet, catalogs or on the phone. At least once a week some order is sent out incomplete. Why? It does not matter, it just happens. The problem is that the customer has the product in hand and the tech or customer service person on the phone cannot look at what the customer has. How do you verify the claim? Without verification, management sees money going out the door and makes is difficult to get a replacement. The customer just wants what they paid for and may say or do some nasty things. The poor tech in the middle is just trying to toe the line. The bottom line is that there are going to be situations that involve the best of companies. What every consumer wants to hear about is how the company dealt with the problem. For people who buy computers, technical support is part of the computer purchase. I did tech support for a major computer manufacturer not too long ago. The DVD drive that was included in the build was defective. I could not say anything about the drive so when it was posted in a group like this, I felt a little better. The company was forced to get a new drive supplier and is now doing better than ever. The morrow is, if the company can suppress the knowledge of problems, they will. They will try to quietly fix the problem but if they cannot keep it quiet, they will work faster.
