Thanks to all..... My friend brought over her teenage son this evening, who's really into computers. I think he spent about a minute total, and the whole problem was resolved. The fonts look crisp and clean now, just like they had before. All I know is he went into the display properties, and changed a few things.
Coincidentally, Trend Micro also found and quarantined three threats as of yesterday or today.... one was a virus, the other two were Malware from some adult sites. I have deleted them from the computer, but perhaps they were the reason for the computer not being able to shut down; it's difficult for me to believe they came in through the Kodak software.... I have had the Kodak software before, and never had a problem. It had uninstalled when I had to do a system recovery some months back. And as far as I know, no one has been looking at porn sites on this computer, but I'll be sure to ask my cats about it. :-P I have never had so many irritating problems as I have with this computer (it's an HP). Is it the computer, or have the attack programs become so much more sophisticated? Could these recent security threats have obtained any secure information of mine (passwords, etc)? Should I be changing my passwords or taking other measures, or are things fine since they have been found and removed?
