Question: What is the difference between internal and external speakers? Is one superior to the other. Hi And sorry: I don't like to respond to every problem to give others a chance to respond and sometimes I layback. Speakers are a pretty straight forward problem. You can almost measure the quality of speakers by their size, and by their costs. Small speakers poor quality, expensive speakers good quality being a rule of thumb. Laptops in general have very small low cost speakers while external speakers can be very large, 12 or 16 inches typical, and very expensive running to $1000 and more. Also small speakers can reproduce high pitch sounds well but not base sounds. Large speakers can reproduce base notes well but not high notes. External speaker enclosures will usually have 2 to 4 speaker sizes from tweeters, for high Notes, to woofers, for base notes, usually ranging in size from about 2' to 16'. External enclosures also contain electronic circuitry to separate the sound pitch and feed them to the speakers most capable of reproducing them. That reduces distortion because of interaction between the the speakers. You can see that this technology would not be affordable or practical for Laptops. Some electronic improvements, such as shaping the signal, can be designed for small speakers but that is usually a poor compromise for better speakers. Hope this helps. If you have more questions I will try to respond. Bye Emile **************One site has it all. Your email accounts, your social networks, and the things you love.
