OK, this is another thing that may not work if your computer will not make it into windows. It's a way you can restore your computer to an earlier configuration. You click the Start button [lower left of the screen], then select Accessories, then System Tools, then click System Restore. This will bring you to a page where you can choose to restore your computer to an earlier time. Doing this will reveal a kind of calendar where lists of the past restore points were created. You select one of these, something before the problem started happening. Then follow the options to start the recovery. Yes, it's a long path to get there. And sometimes there are not very many restore points.
