Check the black ink cartridge. I have the HP PSC 1210v which uses the same kind of ink cartridges as the InkJet printers. Take the black ink cartridge out and give it a little shake to see if that helps loosen the ink. If that doesn't solve the problem, you may need to take the printer in to be serviced.
