Looking at the photos in the "Photos" section of the group, it appears the pads are worn away. My guess is you could use some "conductive" paint to fill back in the traces that are worn away. You would need to reproduce the overlapping design just like the pads that are not worn away, making sure you don't create any paths that would cause the connections to be connected all the time.
