Good afternoon, I have dial up, and have random, recurring DNS problems. Sometimes really bad, where mail and browser can not connect to practically anything; sometimes a refresh or two will work in the browser.
Tech says ports are likely corroding. Liquid was spilled down the back of the computer several months ago, more than once. I have been using a usb modem in a back port. Moving the modem to a front port is not going to help any, correct? Can this be solved by getting a new modem card? I was told in Dec 2010 to buy a usb modem, in answer to the same problem, from an online tech, and that helped, but now am back to the same problems. I have to wait a week to go back because of the tornado; he wasn't able to do much. Their dialup connections are hit and miss because of the storm. What else should I be thinking about/asking?
