Hi Catrina -
I think the largest USB thumb drive you can buy is 32GB.  It'll cost you 
around $50 or $60 - you can find one cheaper online probably.  They also 
have 16GB thumbdrives for as little as $15 or $20.

Your probs will likely keep getting worse, so backup now while you can.  
When you are backed up and brave enough, run Check Disk.  Then you'll 
know for sure if the hard drive is your problem - or if maybe you've 
just got some corrupted windows files.  (I'm guessing it's the drive).

Yes, you will have to reinstall all your programs, and download some 
drivers - but then you'll have a nice clean windows installation and the 
pc should run like a charm.
