I use Jim Vint's ABC2win program to score folk tunes.
Up to recently I thought this software the 'best thing since sliced bread'
for what I want.
But. I need to write in bass notes under the chord symbols and in between
chord symbols.
For instance: G D7 G G7 C
G
b d c b b g
c c b
The traditional way of using D7/b G/b C/c
only applies to the chord position
and is a little clumsy for bass runs.
I've tried using the W: command, but can't always get the word symbols
clear of below- the-
stave chord symbols.
I've tried using a blank line after W: and then another W: with the bass
notes but that caused havoc.
I suggested to Jim that maybe a second line of 'words' might be not too
difficult to write using perhaps
a Y: command which is yet undefined. He reckons it would wreck a lot of
existing software.
The need for a second line of chord symbols is the same thing.
What other ABC scoring programs are there that actually work? Jim Vint's is
fine to the standard.
