Laurie writes: | incidentally, it's my experience that when a "classically trained" | musician encounters this stuff, the funny key signature is | the very least of his problems. They play it note perfect | at first sight, but then they have a hard time getting the | feel of the music and learning to play it as it should be. Yeah, but it's also true that a person brought up on Debussy and Tchaikovsky will have the same sort of problems with Bach and Haydn, and vice versa. Any sort of music requires a lot of time and work before you can understand the style. Most people will tell you this is true of only their own favorite kinds of music, of course.
