I take it you haven't typeset the Biber Rosary Sonatas, with the
scordatura tuning.
Admittedly, scordatura tuning is a much wierder application of music
notation than what John and his Balkan musician friends want to do,
but it is a part of the standard western repertoire of a major
orchestral instrument.
(This example just showed up on the lilypond list this morning -- the
equivalent feature in lilypond exists, but has been broken for the
last few months.)
