You have "patriotic feathers"! That's more than I have. I think the closest
I get is that I do support my county of birth (England) in sport. It would
also be fair to say that I would never want to bring our country down
(although there are issues that I would argue quite strongly against) but I
think that is a little different to feeling patriotic. I think some of it
with me is that I lived most of my life in Wales and have never felt I
belonged to any one country of the UK. This is compunded by a sort of
arrogance that in many people seem to think England = UK...

To get more on to music, sometimes I have problems, particularly on the BBC
board. It can be arugued (or more accurately this is my interpretation) that
as one is English, one should be supporting English music but on a
session/playing level, my choice tends to be Irish and I don't feel any
obligation towards English music. That of course is not to argue there is
not great music from England, that Irish music is superior, or that any
musical heritage is not important. It's just the way my own tastes with
playing in sessions has taken me.
