Go to configuration manager and in the user setting options, set your 
preference to keyboard echo off.

In fact, to say the truth, I too am suffering acutely by the same
problem as you are. I think that retinitis pigmintosa is accountable
for the ear problem. My two sisters, who too have the same disease,
cannot tolerate loud sounds like me. Sometimes, to be frank, I think
that this bleeping disease will damage my spared ears also. Can anyone
bestow some light on this issue, please?
