Hi, Yes, you can disable typing echo permanently by following the steps listed below.
1. Open JAWS context menu using INSERT+J. 2. Select Utilities submenu and then, Configuration Manager. This opens JAWS Configuration Manager window. 3. Press ALT+S to open the Set Options menu. Select User Options from the menu. This opens the User Options dialog box. 4. Navigate to the Typing Echo option and select the Off radio button. 5. Activate the OK button to close the User Options dialog box. 6. Press CTRL+S to save. 7. Close Configuration Manager using ALT+F4. Besides, you can also disable Tutor Messages. To do so, 1. Press INSERT+J to open JAWS context menu. 2. Select Options submenu and then, Basics... The Basic Settings dialog box opens. 3. For the Tutor Messages option, select Turn Off Menu and Control Help radio button. 4,. Activate the Ok button. Hope that relieves you of too much hearing.
