How do I check whether my product key is registered in my Microsoft account?
Each time when I activated my copy of windows I would have to provide the 
product key.  Indeed I did activate for the first time after linking my PC in 
to my Microsoft account.
Does unlinking device from the Microsoft account also deactivate our license 
from the account as well?
If I wish to give my laptop is it enough if I unlink my PC from the Microsoft 
account?

Hi Kriti, hope you would be doing great.
As suggested by other experienced members, I would suggest the same but a 
slightly different way.
1)      Go for A back of each and everything that you believe you don’t want to 
lose.
2)      Make sure you have a backup of the windows license key if your
laptop came with a license key, usually this remains in your bios and won’t go 
away even you format your hard disk, you can also see whether your windows key 
is there in your Microsoft account or not.
3)      Made bootable windows installation DVD/us drive,
4)      Complete erase and re-partition of the hard disk and install
windows and only the required drivers with all the updates.
I had same experiences with my Sony and dell laptops. And could only resolved 
after doing this.
As far as part replacement is concerned, then usually the certified service 
center people don’t do this, but if you have problems with the system, get it 
replaced with them.
