Hi Vivek and all, 1. UDID card can be applyed on the websight and it can also be applyed through the district rehabilitation office.
2. The Websight is very much accesible and if your UDID ID gets generated, then you will get an SMS in your registered mobile with the UDID number and you can download the card through the websight. 3. It takes loads of time for the UDID number/card to be generated and please keep the enrollment number safely till the card gets generated. I had to wait for years to get mine and finally I have it. 4. the UDID card is an attempt to unify services for differently abled people across the nation and within few years, they will completely abolish the current disability ID which is in the form of a book. 5. Last but not least, with the advantage of the UDID ID, your medical certificate also becomes digital and you can download the same from the websight. The only issue is that the data is opened to everyone and hence anyone and everyone with your phone number can easily access your details like DOB, Aadar number etc. That is unacceptable and I am not sure why this issue is not being taken seriously by various organizations and individuals working for the rights of differently abled.
