Hi kriya, Congrads on your new roll. Almost all the issues have been covered here, but here are some of my tips.
1. The best place to start will be your reporting manager. You can explain your accesibility requirement to your manager. After you join, have an 1:1 with your manager and and discuss your requirements. 2. It is not important whether you require payed or free screen reader. You can start with JAWS as the requirement and if the organization hesitates, then you can settle with NVDA. 3. Inaccesibility of internal apps can slowly be brought to the attention of the app developers. As you navigate along, you will come to know the POC for App development team. Before contacting the POC, note down the list of accessible issues. Which part of the app is more accesible? Which icons or menu items are inaccesible? Did you try to taccle the issue with your screen reader in anyway? If so, then how? Clearly identified issues can bring better results than simply saying that the app is inaccesible. I also second the view that confrontation is not the best way to take our issues to the forefront. Good Luck. Vetri.
