Hi Sagar, NR-O account can be opened by non resident Indian if they have income in India. Such income can be credited into this account. Even existing savings account can be converted into NR-O account. However, there is some restriction on repatriation of funds outside India though the restriction limit is substantially high NR-E account can be opened by non-resident Indians for their income earned outside India. They can remit their overseas income into this account and repatriate the same anytime without any restriction. Remember: 1. Both the accounts can be opened only in Indian currency 2. exchange rate risk is borne by the account holder
However, if you want to avoid exchange rate risk you can consider opening FC-NR bank account. The catch is that this account can be opened only in specified foreign currency and available only as fixed deposit.
