Hello, These dollar files in ms word are normally hidden files. If you turn off "Show all files" in Folder Options, you will no longer encounter these problems. Usually the last file you opened in ms word leaves a remnant like this.

Generally such files disappear once you close the original file. I haven't tried out with any setting that enables/disables removal of such files after closing the original one.
