Hello, This is not the case in P S U Banks. It defers from bank to bank. Like in SBI, clerical staff also get petrol allowance along with the officer cadre, however it differs rank and scale wise, to put it in other words, Clerical staff get of 15 liters , whereas officer cadre of scale 1 get almost double to it, and it further increases scalewise. But the same clerical staff of most of the banks, including Allahabad Bank, UBI, etc. don’t get a single liter petrol allowance. Nevertheless all clerical staffs get one special conveyance allowance on the ground of disability and that too according to the norms of Central Government.
However, policy of bestowing allowances and perquisite to employees vary according to the financial strength of the bank to bank. But the issue in discussion where VI employees are denied of such allowances comparing their sighted counterparts doesn’t seem to exist here.
